I Ka Ching is delighted to announce the second single of the year from folk-minimalist artist Huw M \u2014 \u2018Hud\u2019, out on 24th October 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s wonderful to see Huw M return with \u2018Hud\u2019, his follow-up to \u2018Cacwn Bwm\u2019, which was warmly received and named Track of the Week on BBC Radio Cymru earlier this year \u2014 a welcome comeback after a decade of musical silence.<\/p>\n

\u2018Hud\u2019 is a bright, energetic track, rich with layered harmonies, jangly, catchy guitar riffs, and a generous dose of Hammond organ. Speaking about the song, Huw said: \u201cThe lyrics talk about the idea that everyone has some kind of magic inside them \u2014 we just have to find out what that magic is. I think Dolly Parton said, \u2018find out who you are, then do it on purpose,\u2019 and that\u2019s the idea behind the song: that everyone has something special and unique to offer, and there\u2019s a place in the world for everyone and their magic.\u201d<\/p>\n

The track also features Bethan Mai (Rogue Jones), Lucy Goldbridge, and Iolo Whelan. It was recorded at T\u0177 Drwg Studio with producer Frank Naughton. More singles are on the way, with a brand-new album set for release in 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

I Ka Ching records is delighted to announce a new single by Huw M – ‘Cacwn Bwm’ – which is released on Friday 20th of June 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The folk-minimalist artist, Huw M, is back with his brand new single called ‘Cacwn Bwm’. This is Huw’s first single for 10 years, and the joyful, up-beat, summery feel is quite different to his last album, ‘Utica’.<\/p>\n

“Cacwn bwm is one of the Welsh terms for bumble bees”, explains Huw. “The inspiration behind the lyric is the success of the Welsh football teams in recent years, and one of the fans saying that Wales is the bumblebee of the football world. Because of the size of their bodies, bumblebees should not be able to fly, and Wales should not be winning a place in competitions such as the World Cup and the Euros! The bumblebee is an inspiration to us all – proving that anything is possible. And who knows how far the Wales women’s team will go in Euro 2025?”<\/p>\n

Featuring on ‘Cacwn Bwm’ is Huw himself (vocals, guitars and the Hammond organ), Bethan Mai (also from Rogue Jones), Iolo Whelan on drums and Lucy Goldbridge singing and playing the cello. ‘Cacwn Bwm’ was recorded and produced by Frank Naughton at T\u0177 Drwg Studio.<\/p>\n

Huw M’s previous material has received 4 star reviews in the Times, Record Collector, R2, 8\/10 in Clash as well as receiving a nomination for the Welsh Music Prize Award. Songs from the ‘Utica’ album were played on BBC Radio 1 (a ‘featured’ album by Huw Stephens), 6Music, BBC Radio 3, Radio Cymru, Radio Wales and ABC in Australia.<\/p>\n

Another single will be released by Huw M before long and he is currently working on an album which will be released in 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Utica is Huw M\u2019s third album \u2013 his first on the wonderful I Ka Ching<\/i> label, recently chosen as NME\u2019s label of the week. For this release, Huw has been working with various musicians to blend early gospel with Welsh folk, and a good dollop of poignancy, melancholy and heartbreak. Very jolly stuff.<\/p>\n
